It was a pleasure to make my way to Brooklyn Heights last month to enjoy the flavors of recently opened La Barrita Argentinian Steakhouse and Wine Bar. This new spot is bringing Argentinian culture and authentic dishes to New York. The restaurant was brought to life thanks to restaurateur Nando Ghorchian and the creativity and passion of Sebastian Cardona who serves as the creator and manager of this welcoming and alluring steakhouse. I’ve had an interest in Japanese culture since I was in high school. With its anime, interesting cuisine, and cherry blossoms, Japan quickly climbed to the top of my list of places to visit.
Even though I haven’t yet visited Japan, I believe in dreaming about and researching a destination until I’m ready to plan a trip and cross the seas for a new adventure. I also like to apply this theory to all of my personal dreams and goals. I dreamed and researched until I was ready to move from Puerto Rico to New York City 10 years ago, and I did it again more recently when I moved to Miami and back to New York. But those are stories for another day.
Are you thinking about planning a trip to Japan, too? Book your flight, find a fabulous hotel like the InterContinental Osaka, and add these places to your travel itinerary.

2016 was a pretty eventful year! I found myself constantly traveling back and forth between Miami and New York City to visit the boyfriend, plus to attend events in NYC to share with all of you, including New York Fashion Week. I also worked every day to grow Haute Cocktail and to find more opportunities as a Social Media Writer. The year was also sprinkled with several getaways to enjoy some much-deserved time off. The second half of the year was packed moving back to the NYC/NJ area from Miami, looking for an apartment, and finally moving into my new home back in November. Crazy everything we are capable of doing and accomplishing in just a year! I was super excited when Maker’s Mark reached out inviting me to join a Blogger challenge to create a delicious and unique Hot Toddy recipe using their smooth and delicious Bourbon. As the fan of Bourbon that I am, I had to say yes without skipping a beat. Aside from using their Maker’s Mark in the recipe, we were required to use our choice of four different teas from Harney & Sons. After a bit of reading, I got inspired by Maker’s Mark’s notes of caramel and vanilla, plus the festive holiday season to come up with this twist on a Hot Toddy… The Tea-Nog Toddy. Keep reading for the recipe.
