Halloween is in a week and I’m sure a lot of you will be celebrating this weekend. I’ve been receiving a lot of awesome cocktails to celebrate Hollow’s Eve with and thought to share them with you on a Halloween cocktails round-up post. They are the perfect addition to your Halloween plans, no matter if it’s to host friends at your place, bring something spooktacular to a friend’s party (sorry, I had to!), or to just make it for your close squad as a pre-game drink or the perfect companion for a night of Halloween movies.
You’ll Float Too
This cocktail-inspired on the demonized clown from the movie “IT” is perfect to have before heading to the movie theater or curling in the couch to catch up on past “IT” films. Find the closest movie theater and buy tickets for ‘IT’ here.
2 parts Maker’s 46
1 part sweet vermouth
Orange twist, for garnish
CAMPARI ICE CUBES:
¾ part Campari
2 parts water
Several hours before serving, mix together Campari and water and freeze in a square ice mold. When frozen, make the cocktail: Place 2 Campari ice cubes in a rocks glass. Pour all ingredients over ice cubes and garnish with a wide orange twist. Stir the drink to start the ice melting.
Attending a Halloween party at a friend’s house? Bring them a bottle of Cazadores Tequila (even better if you can get your hands on the limited-edition bottle designed by legendary tattoo artist Mister Cartoon!) and share this recipe with them to toast for Día de los Muertos.
1 ½ oz. Cazadores Reposado
1 oz. Perfect Puree Prickly Pear
½ oz. Agave nectar
2 lemon wedges
Top with ginger beer
Muddle lemon wedges with the agave in a shaker. Add rest of the ingredients, except ginger beer, and shake. Pour into a copper mug with ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with mint & chipotle powder.
The Angry Spell
If you are hosting friends at your place or just want to make a couple of cocktails to pre-game before heading out for the night, this should do the trick… or is it more of a treat? *wink*
1 oz. White Rum
0.75 oz. Lime Juice
0.5 oz. Ginger Syrup**
0.5 oz. Creme de Cassis or Creme de Muir
FOR GINGER SYRUP:
1 cup Finely Chopped Fresh Ginger
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Water
DIRECTIONS FOR GINGER SYRUP:
Peel the ginger and then finely chop. Add all ingredients to the pot and bring to boil. Allow to cook for 2 min then remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes. Strain syrup through a fine strainer. Keep refrigerated.
Add White Rum, Lime Juice and Ginger syrup to shaker. Strain into Collins glass with ice. Top with Angry Orchard Crisp Apple and Crème de Cassis. Garnish with lime wheel and blackberries.
Berries and Bubbles
Host a Halloween dinner party and surprise your guests with this sophisticated cocktail, or better yet, make reservations at Ocean Prime in New York City to enjoy.
1 ¼ oz. Belvedere Citrus Vodka
¾ oz. Crème de Cassis
1 ½ oz. Sour Mix
1 oz. Domaine Chandon Brut
Combine Belvedere Citrus Vodka, Crème de Cassis and sour in a shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass containing a spoonful of berries and a piece of dry ice. Finish cocktail by topping it with Domaine Chandon Brut.
