I love exploring New York City and any other place I might find myself visiting (See what I did in Chicago over here!). I strongly believe that everywhere you go has its charm and its fair share of things to see, do, eat, and enjoy. Obviously, the Big Apple has way more than a “fair share” of places to check out and try. I mean, every week there is a new place to make an appearance at or that makes its way to number one in a trendy hit list, turning it into a very crowded must-try. However, crowded or not, we love to explore, eat, and have fun. Case in point: Chefs Club Counter in SoHo! The which I have seen climbing up FourSquare’s weekly top list.
Last week, I was invited to a dinner at Bishops and Barons in NYC to meet the creator of a very unique vodka, Blat Advanced Vodka. Blat is originally from Catalonia, Spain and is starting to make its way to the United States. What makes this vodka so special is the fact that it has no impurities.
When a liquor is created, it is distilled to get rid of impurities that naturally appear in the process of making it. In this case, the distillation and purification processes are one-of-a-kind, well kept secrets that make this vodka stand among the rest.
How exactly does it stand out, you may be asking? Well, I was lucky enough to try it and all their claims are true. First, the taste is so smooth you don’t feel that strong hit of vodka flavor in your mouth. Because of this, the flavors of anything you mixed it with are brought to the forefront, making your drinks even more delicious and satisfying. The best part of drinking pure is the fact that the next morning you will wake up feeling great… no hangovers, just pure delicious and fun memories!
To learn more about Blat Advanced Vodka and where to find it or enjoy a tasting, you can check their website here, follow their Tumblr here, follow them on Twitter here or ‘Like’ them on Facebook here.
Now, check out some pictures of my Blat Vodka night.
How was your Father’s Day weekend? I had a very fun and varied weekend. On Friday I went out for dinner and then watched a movie at a friend’s apartment. Saturday flew by with brunch, a little bit of shopping and running into the city for a surprise dinner and event that I had planned for my boyfriend. Father’s Day included a motorcycle ride to Long Island, lunch and ping-pong with my boyfriend’s parents.
On Saturday, after the surprise show we decided to walk instead of taking the subway so we could enjoy the lights and stores that were still open in Times Square. For that special and fun night, here’s what I wore.
Yesterday was a busy, productive and inspiring day at IFB Con that ended in a Cookie Monster cocktail at The Diner. I was happy to grab my morning coffee from Starbucks and head over to Milk Studios to meet up with Kristin from Around the Hemline. It is always such an inspiration to learn about the experiences and triumphs of professional bloggers from all over. You know that one of my resolutions is to make this blog a fun, entertaining and inspiring place filled with fashion, cocktails and random fun times. So, you could imagine my list of notes taken yesterday…
Aside from all the commotion of fashionable people underneath one roof, I got a gift bag with information and products to make me an even better and more fashionable blogger. Loved the Think Thin protein bars, my sparkly earrings from Bauble Bar, my gift card to Just Fabulous, among other things. And, if that wasn’t enough, walking around the room taking pictures and getting interviewed with Kristin and hanging briefly with Kellie from Fatshion Insider, made it even more fun and worth it to be there instead of being home doing a billion videos for my production class.
Here are some pictures of all the fashion fun that went down at IFB Con.
Today I’m heading to two fashion shows at Nolcha Fashion Week, so stay tuned!
How did this week treat you? I kept busy starting my resolutions and setting up plans with friends.
One of my resolutions is to lose weight and eat healthier, while another resolution is to keep bringing you better and more fun deets on fashion, cocktails and my existence on this planet. So, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out Haru Sushi in NYC with its premium sushi and skinny cocktails for the month of January and February. I mean, no matter how much we want to eat healthy and lose weight we need to head out once in a while and enjoy ourselves without feeling like tomorrow we will weigh five more pounds.
I went to the Broadway location right on Times Square. I loved the setting with its white fairy lights wrapped around light wood, creating an intimate and modern atmosphere. From the menu, I ordered the Kiss of Fire roll (only for the spice lovers!) and enjoyed the Shiso Slim cocktail (recipe below).
I encourage you to try it out (fashionistas like Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Olivia Palermo have!), and after loving it sign up to their Haru Access Program to receive monthly updates on their special/seasonal drinks and menu items, as well as a $20 gift certificate on your birthday month. I’m already signed in!
