We are half way through the first month of the new year! This means that most likely you find yourself pushing forward to continue or start those resolutions. Most of us always resolve to be more healthy by eating foods that are better for our bodies, as well as commit to exercising more often. My suggestion is for you to start one small change at a time, and switching a cup of coffee for tea, by reaching for the varieties that Bigelow Tea offers, and using a natural sweetener instead of sugar, like Truvia, are both easy changes that you will surely enjoy. Get creative in the kitchen and make delicious and healthy creations to keep your taste buds excited and your goals right on track. How about starting by trying my Chai Tea Smoothie recipe as a quick breakfast or lunch? Keep reading for the recipe!
I personally love coffee, but throughout the years I’ve explored with switching to tea as a way to lead a more healthy lifestyle. There are so many flavors and varieties you will never get bored. You can also add a splash of milk, making them more satisfying. I always do when I have my Vanilla Chai Tea! (Bigelow Tea has a very tasty one, too, and it can also be a great dessert alternative… Just saying!) When it comes to adding sugar to your tea, or in any other recipe that calls for it, switching to a natural sweetener like Truvia is a great way to cut calories while keeping it natural. Truvia is also great to make your own simple syrup for all those cocktails I share with you.
So, when Bigelow Tea and Truvia reached out to get creative in the kitchen I was psyched to make something that would be healthy and satisfying. I’ve been thinking of getting myself into smoothies for breakfast and lunch in order to cut calories and also include ingredients that will add more vitamins and minerals into my diet, and so inspiration struck! How about a Chai Tea Smoothie?! I made my way to my local Target in Jersey City to stock up on Bigelow Tea, Truvia, and the rest of the ingredients to make this sweet, yet guilt-free smoothie.
