Colorblock fashions are one of those trends that are both fun, timeless, and great to add splashes of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. Another perk of the this trend? It can be very flattering, with lines that help stylize your figure. You can have fun with a colorblock dress, sweater, top or any other piece your heart and imagination desire.
When styling this trend, you can go in two different directions:
- Think simple, by styling the piece with pieces in solid colors that match or complement your colorblock item. Add some interest to the ensemble with fun accessories like a statement necklace or set of bangles.
- On the other hand, you can style a colorblock garment by incorporating a more dramatic piece in a structured silhouette, or fun print. The colorblock piece will be the more ‘conservative’ item, bringing the look together. If you’d like to take this approach in a more subtle way, you can always match your colorblock fashions with solid colors and focus on modern, or printastic accessories like shoes and/or handbag.
Don’t have any colorblock in your closet? Pair two or more items in solid colors and call it colorblocking!
