Valentine’s Day has come and gone and a proposal or two might have happened. Are you now the happy wearer of an engagement ring? Congratulations! You’ve finally bagged the one. Before long, you’re going to have a lot of planning on your hands. Before you get there, though, you have the engagement party to conquer. Think of this as preparation for what’s to come. If you’ve never arranged a party before, this experience will teach you everything you need to know. As well as conquering the planning, it’s important you get your engagement party outfit right. This is, after all, your coming out as an engaged woman. You’ll never have this chance again, so take a little time considering what you would like to wear! If you’re unsure, here are some suggestions.
GET THE WHITE DRESS OUT
You’ll soon be fed up of shopping for white dresses. Even so, a white dress could be the thing to make you stand out at your party. You are, after all, the bride to be. Why would you not wear white? It’s best to keep things simple, though. Leave the extravagant dress for the wedding day. You’re also going to want to save your pennies, so don’t break the bank with this. If you already own a white dress, see how that looks. If not, hit the mall to find the perfect one!
You may want to hit the heels but don’t. You’re going to be circulating all night. High heels will leave your feet in a sorry state. Avoid the problem by opting for flat shoes or the more comfortable and trendy block heel. These will suit your dress perfectly. And, there’s no reason these shoes have to be boring! Choose some with a little gem sparkle to make sure your feet shine on the dancefloor. You are the gem of the night, after all!
SHOW OFF THE RING
No engagement party will pass without people asking to see your ring. Make sure you choose an outfit that allows you to show it off! Diamond engagement rings always go down well, so don’t hide it away! Bear in mind that people are going to look carefully. Make sure to get your hands in the best condition before the event. Get a manicure to ensure your hands look as good as possible. Choose a nail varnish color that compliments your ring and outfit. Think, too, about using hand cream on the lead up to the event. People are going to be holding your hand to get a closer look. You don’t want them feeling your rough skin, do you?
As this night is all about that ring on your finger, you don’t want to outshine it with too much jewelry. Even so, a few subtle pieces can work well to highlight your ring. Buy pieces especially for the occasion, so that you can match them with your ring. Think about simple pieces. A subtle bracelet or pretty stud earrings will finish your outfit perfectly. They’ll also help draw the eye to the main event on your finger!
