This year Mother’s Day is on May 10th, and that means that plans to make mom feel extra special should be on their way. However, I also understand that we are busy bees, and sometimes it can be hard to find that perfect gift without going crazy. So, here I bring you a couple of unique Mother’s Day gifts you can get your foodie mom this year, and a little inside scoop of my relationship with my mom.
I am so very thankful that I get to call my mom my friend. We can talk over the phone for hours, and I can tell her pretty much anything about my life, my dreams, and my goals. Every time I go back to Puerto Rico to visit her, and the rest of my family, we engage on a little ritual that involves Champagne, snacks and hours of conversation about absolutely anything and everything. (Read more about my Mother + Daughter ritual, and find a Champagne cocktail recipe inspired on my mom!)
Sometimes, I look myself in the mirror and I see her. When she had me, I’m pretty sure she just went for it and deposited all her DNA on me. Seriously! Even personality-wise we are very similar. We both love to enjoy good cocktails and food, are very festive, and can find the humor in pretty much anything. We are also very strong women, and in the hardest of times we have managed to transform what seems a terrible situation into pure magic. I have to give thanks to her and to the universe for blessing me with such an amazing trait. Her love and life have inspired me to reach for the stars and follow my heart to wherever it may take me. I can only wish to be as amazing a mom as she has been to me, and my siblings, one day. Thank you mom for helping me become the woman I am today. Thank you for your love, your support, your friendship. Thank you for letting me fly. I love you!
And now that I’m done making myself cry over here, I bring you the foodie gift guide I promised so you can show your mom how special she is to you. Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
