As a Blogger, there are so many things that I need to put my energy and time into. However, a successful blog can only come with the help of a good amount of traffic directed towards it. There are many ways to accomplish this and some of them, like posting on Instagram, I enjoy more than others. Not so enjoyable? Figuring out SEO and Google algorithms to optimize my content and website. However, extremely important! Even though I know this, I SO have more fun things to do than that. Own a website and find yourself in my same boat? Keep reading to learn more about the things I’d rather be doing as a Blogger and a great company that’ll keep your website running optimized and traffic flowing to it.
I Prefer to… Attend Events
Blogging can get lonely. You are mostly home plotting, creating, writing, and posting content away. So, I love attending events, like the Lay’s #DoUsAFlavor one, where I get to mingle and meet other Bloggers, discover new products, try them, and learn new things to share with you here. They are also very important to network! It’s through connections with other Bloggers and brand reps that I’m able to create more content, gain great opportunities to keep building and promoting my brand while making a living out of my corner of internet real estate and as a social media freelancer. Plus events are plain fun!
I Prefer to… Travel
Amazing opportunities to travel for the blog, like when I visited Kentucky with Maker’s Mark, are instances where dropping everything, saying “yes!”, packing, and leaving on a jet plane are a must. When you have to pack having specific weather, events, and photo shoot opportunities in mind, get yourself to an airport, travel, and explore a new place for a couple of days, there is no time to sit down and work on the technical stuff of your blog or website. That time is precious to explore, see, experience, and capture every second of a new place so I can come back and share it on a blog post and on social media with you.
I Prefer to… Create Visual Content
A blog post without images is like a garden without flowers, and Instagram wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the power of images. So producing photo shoots and videos is a vital part of being a Blogger and continue to grow my brand. Organizing the content that I want to share, when I want to share it, selecting the best day to create, getting the items and props, shooting, and editing is a process that can take a full day of work or longer. That’s even before I sit down to write the content where these images and videos will be used in, edit it, and schedule it. Like I said… so much to do!
