New York Fashion Week has come and gone. It was a busy week of events, fashion shows and meeting with my fashionista friends to learn all about next season’s trends and “It” products. I started my journey on Friday, September 9th by attending the always fun and exciting Lulu’s Style Studio event. For those of you who don’t know about Lulu’s, this is an online store with trendy, affordable and great quality clothing. You can see how I styled pieces from their past collections here and here. Now, keep reading for more on the fun, fashions, finds and friends I encountered.
Like every night out, it all starts with what to wear. I went for a casual, yet edgy and feminine look for a fun night of mingling, cocktailing and dancing. A graphic tee was paired with a striped skirt, and finished the look with a red lip, sparkly belt to add a feminine touch and booties. I was happy to receive compliments on my skirt and get my outfit immortalized with a fashion illustration made by Meagan Morrison from Travel Write Draw.
This party is all about those great beauty and fashion finds, and I was pleased to stock up on new products to try and share with all of you, while sipping on some bubbly, of course! My favorite finds from the night include a professional curling wand from Nume, NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo plus Plush Gel Lipstick in Foxy Love, Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm, Herbivore Hair Sea Mist, Sigma Loose Shimmer in Midsummer, Winky Lux Diamonds Foundation Powder, and Amika Dry Shampoo. When it comes to new fashion additions to my closet, I scored a wine red suede jacket from Olive + Oak. I was also one of the lucky ones to get an orange gum ball and score a second piece from Black Swan. This time I went for a form-fitting burgundy dress. (Note that burgundy will be all the rage this fall!)
This fun night was wrapped up with a manicure from LVX nail polish to match the sneakers I was planning on wearing the next morning, followed by fun times taking pictures and dancing to the great tunes by DJ Kristaval with my fashion bloggers squad. Head on over to meet, follow and find even more inspiration from Dara at The Style Senders and Dana from Daily Fashionista. Also, stay tuned for another post on my second day running around NYC for New York Fashion Week!
