A while back I was invited to stop by The Cuban restaurant in Hoboken, NJ to try some of their cocktails and new items on the menu. I was really excited to taste some new concoctions and pair them with delicious appetizers and dessert to report back. My idea is that when it comes to cocktailing, no matter how much I love a good drink, the experience as a whole is as important as what is inside your martini glass.
So, I made my way to The Cuban to check what they had to offer. We sat down and enjoyed live Latin music while indulging in delicious appetizers and the first drink of the night. We had the ‘Aguacate y Tomate‘ salad with their ‘Americain‘ cocktail. The salad was really tasty. Anything with Avocado in it is a yes in my book, but this salad was even more appealing thanks to its flavorful onions and perfectly paired vinaigrette. The cocktail was the perfect combination of refreshing, strong, and sweet… Just how I like them!
We ended our feast with the decadent ‘Torta de Chocolate‘ paired with a ‘Pisco Sour‘ cocktail. The ‘Torta de Chocolate’ is a chocolate caramel sponge cake with chocolate caramel mousse perfect to share, as the size is as decadent as its flavor. I really enjoyed the ‘Pisco Sour’ made of Pisco Porton, Angostura Bitters, lime and egg white foam. Having egg white in your cocktail may sound weird at first, but trust me, it has never disappointed me.
The Cuban is a great place to go for brunch, dinner or happy hour with a friend. You are bound to find the perfect spot to seat down either at the bar or in one of their three seating sections. Having Latin live music was a great bonus, too! You can pay them a visit and try their delicious menu at 333 Washington St. Hoboken, NJ 07030 or call them at 201-795-9899. Cheers!
