Last Wednesday, during New York Fashion Week I attended Nolcha Fashion Week to take a look at the Spring 2014 collections of independent designers from around the world. During the evening showcase I got to delight my eyes in the collections of Mariana Valentina, Leka, Lum by Lama Taher, Studio 6th Sense, and Nina Athanasiou. The night was filled with beautiful dresses I’m already craving in my closet. Throughout the different collections you could find lots of draping, tones of green, and silks and satins. (Things to have in mind for next Spring!) Keep scrolling to take a peek at my favorite pieces of the night.
Mariana Valentina showcased a muted collection that was brought to life by sexy draping, silk and a pop of lime green.
Leka‘s collection was designed for the femme fatale, and my favorite of the night and possibly my entire fashion career so far! Honestly, in the years I’ve been in the fashion industry, this is the first time I watch a runway show that makes me laugh in delight from beginning to end. Just amazing! There were cutouts, flirty volume and lots of black with pops of red.
I NEED this dress! That is all.
Lum by Lama Taher was such an elegant collection filled with satins, embellishments and classic black and white paired with greens and reds. This was another collection where a lot of the pieces I would love to see hanging in my closet.
Studio 6th Sense was all about fun, ladylike pieces. Think Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl in fun floral prints, and standing out in blue and yellow.
Nina Athanasiou wrapped up the night with satins, metallic leathers and lots of capes for women and men.
This piece un-clips from the shoulders to create a long tail perfect to wear with a mini skirt or skinny pants.
So, what do you think? Which collection rocks your boat the most?
