Fourth of July weekend is right around the corner and I’m sharing with you a simple yet festive outfit perfect for the occasion. Check the rest of the post for more details on the items I’m wearing, pictures and views of the NYC skyline.
When thinking about what to wear for the 4th of July, my first requirement was to work with items already in my closet. In a moment of inspiration I thought about my red skirt paired with my blue crop top. Of course, this outfit cannot get any more “me”. Like I’ve mentioned over and over again in the past, I’m all about crop tops. Pair a crop top with a high-waisted skater skirt and a pair of high-tops and you have Carla circa now. I’ve recreated this look in so many ways throughout the past couple of months it’s almost an uniform of mine at this point.

Anyway, going back to 4th of July goodness. The main idea for this outfit was to combine the two classic colors of this holiday… red and blue. So, find two pieces in solid colors and pair them to create your very own 4th of July look. You can even go for blue paired with white and red stripes. You can even have fun with other prints like I did last year, when I paired a star printed skirt with a… guess!… you know the answer… yes?… a red crop top! So, I guess it’s not only America’s birthday, but Carla’s crop top obsession’s birthday, too. (And for some reason I keep talking about myself in third person… bare with me!)
I finished off this 4th of July outfit with a pair of High-tops, because they are cool, comfy, oh-so-American, and I can’t seem to take them off. (This coming from a girl who rarely wore any kind of sneakers.) I added some red in the form of sparkly earrings, a bracelet and lip, plus added a fun star bracelet to get even more festive.
What do you think of this look? What are you wearing to enjoy fireworks on the 4th of July this year?
