Fun and flirty ruffles are very haute right now. They can make any garment more playful to wear, but they can also be a bit tricky to style as they tend to add volume to the body. I have a curvy body with big hips and a somewhat big chest, so I tend to wear ruffles on my bottom half to play up that area. When doing so, I make sure that the top part of my dress or ensemble is form-fitting so my body is not lost in a sea of fabric and ruffles.
However, having a curvy body doesn’t mean you can’t wear ruffles on a top or bodice of a dress. Mainly, I would suggest going for small ruffles that don’t cover the breast area or sporting a cute peplum, while keeping the rest of the outfit more structured. Unexpected ruffles that serve as a way of adding detail or texture to a piece are great, too. It’s all about striking a balance and showcasing your awesome hourglass body.
