Layering is a great way to add visual interest and dimension to any outfit. A couple of years ago I went through a forget about pants and jeans phase that has stuck with me ever since. It was during that fashion transition in my life that I discovered and fell in love with leggings and tights. They can add a fun pop of color, print, texture and pizzazz to any skirt and dress in your wardrobe, plus they eliminate that mental paranoia of having a Marilyn Monroe moment gone bad.
That’s why I was thrilled to partner with No nonsense to try and style a pair of their leggings and tights. I received their Denim Legging in Dark Denim and the Fishnet Openwork Tight in Mink. The leggings were soft, stretchy and with a silvery sheen that made them that much cooler. When I tried them on I thought they were going to be too big, but actually they fitted perfectly. The waistband was soft and comfortable (no out of the blue muffin top!) and the ankles were the right balance between tight and loose. Very comfortable pair! The tights were also really stretchy, but sturdy. You need fishnets to be strong as you don’t want to break them on your first use. I also loved that they have a reinforced panty making them even more comfortable than most fishnets.

I styled the leggings for a Friendsgiving happy hour. I wanted to be comfortable to enjoy the food and drinks, but still look fashionable to go from happy hour to girls night out. A long button up tunic was the perfect match to these leggings (always cover your assets, girls! Leggings are NOT pants, I repeat… leggings are NOT pants!) and I added a long cardigan to keep me warm and comfy. A studded bag and flats were the perfect accessory to add some oomph to the ensemble.
I styled the fishnets in a monochromatic look perfect for a sexy date night or cocktail hour. The Mink is a bronze kind of brown that went perfect with a bronze dress I bought years ago for New Year’s, a bronze lip and leopard print pumps. I brought a splash of color with the platform of the shoes and stud earrings.
