National Tequila Day is this Monday, July 24th! That means it’s time to celebrate with refreshing tequila drinks. Tequila is definitely one of my favorite spirits, so it’s very exciting to have yet another excuse to treat myself to a Margarita or tequila drink this summer. Isn’t it the perfect spirit to enjoy during the hot months? I surely think so! Keep reading to discover two tequila drinks perfect to celebrate National Tequila Day with. Salud!
I bring you two fruity tequila drinks to concoct at your home bar or to show to your favorite bartender for him/her to make for you while out with friends. The simplicity of the Highland Margarita made with Tequila Cazadores (buy it and have it delivered via Drizly and save $5 with code debzd) is everything! I chose this one because it’ll be very easy to get the ingredients at your local supermarket and recreate at home. Hey! Maybe invite your friends over for a low-key night of Margaritas and board games.
2 oz. Tequila Cazadores Reposado
4 oz. Grapefruit Juice
1 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Pure Agave Nectar
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
My second pick it’s the Crime + Passion from my friends at Don Julio Tequila. This one caught my eye because of its spicy factor (I love me some spicy drinks!) and the fact that it uses Passionfruit juice. Passionfruit is a flavor that reminds me of home (Puerto Rico) and I found it unusual to see it in a cocktail recipe, so wanted to share something a little bit more different with you as well. This one is perfect to make for a special someone and stay in enjoying cocktails and watching an equally spicy show or film.
Crime + Passion
1 oz. Tequila Don Julio Reposado
1/2 oz. Poblano Liqueur
2 oz. Fresh Lime juice
1 3/4 oz. Fresh Passionfruit Juice
Poblano Salt for Rimmed Glass
Combine Tequila Don Julio Reposado, poblano liqueur, fresh lime juice, and fresh Passionfruit into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain contents into a mason jar rimmed with poblano salt over fresh ice. Garnish with rosemary sprig.
There you have it… two great tequila drinks to celebrate all weekend long or for National Tequila Day on Monday, July 24th!
