What does the word beautiful mean to you? For me, it’s all about having beauty on the inside as well as on the outside. There are plenty of guides that teach you how to do your hair or your makeup. In this guide, I want to look at how you can feel beautiful inside and out. That may be doing your hair and makeup, but it’s also about working on that confidence. Here are some super simple tips to help you achieve true beauty.
Look after your skin
You should make your skin your number one priority. After all, it’s one of the first things you as well as other notice, and can definitely make or break your confidence. To take care of it, put together a skincare routine that suits your skin type, always take your makeup off before bed, drink plenty of water (I always have a glass by my side!), and slather on the sunscreen. Flawless skin is the key to looking (and feeling) more beautiful.
There are two reasons I’ve added this to the list. The first is because exercise can help you become a fitter and trimmer version of yourself. Even if you don’t want to lose weight, there’s nothing wrong with toning up and getting healthy! Secondly, exercise is good for your mind and soul. It releases endorphins that make you feel more positive. It’s a great way to deal with any down days and give you a boost in confidence.
You are what you eat
Along the same lines as exercising, watch what you eat. Dig into the sugary snacks and you’ll find yourself slumping. It can cause acne and all sorts of health problems. However, eat clean and you’ll find it boosts your mood, and your body will look great too! I’m not saying go on a diet and all your problems will be solved. Just consider what you’re putting into your body if you want to feel beautiful. That means plenty of healthy snacks, fruit and vegetables.
Taking some ‘me time’ is a great way to look and feel beautiful. You can make up some face masks at home for a quick and cheap solution. Alternatively, head over to a medical spa and have some more intense treatments done. Run a bubble bath and put your feet up. Or, take all the girls away on a weekend retreat. There are loads of ways to pamper yourself, that will help that inner and outer beauty of yours.
Scruffy hair can not only make us look bad, but it can make us feel bad too. You don’t have to fork out a fortune for a personal stylist to visit you every week. Instead, make sure you’re popping to the hairdressers for a regular trim. This will keep your hair in top condition, and leave a smile on your face. (A good hair day has the power to transform our outlook and day!) If you’re going for a big night out then consider investing in a professional blow-dry for the evening. It shouldn’t be too expensive and it’ll make you feel like a million bucks.
I told you these tips were simple! There’s nothing here that you can’t try or might already be doing. Remember, you want to be beautiful on the inside, but also on the outside. Which means plenty of confidence and a 24/7 smile.
